Fetichism

Fetishism literally means the worship of fetishes.

Etymologically, the term comes from feitiço (“artificial”, then “spell” by extension), the name given by the Portuguese to objects of worship used by African populations during their colonization of part of the continent.

From the 18th century onwards, this notion was taken up again in anthropology, and then in philosophy, with regard to the question of belief and the object of religion1. The term was first used by Charles de Brosses in 1760: “the worship of certain earthly and material objects called fetishes… and which for this reason I shall call fetishism2”.

A fetish is a transfer of affectivity onto a single or compound object.

Consequently, fetishism in BDSM can appear in very different ways: veneration of a body part, extrapolation of the senses: hearing, sight, smell, touch, etc., always leading to sexual arousal and provoking immense pleasure.

This is how we can become fetishized by a smell, a taste (licking and absorbing liquid -Uro- for example), or any other form of obsession guiding the libido.

It can also involve clothing (e.g. loving to see your Mistress wearing boots, jeans or fishnet stockings) or materials (latex, leather, vinyl, fur).

Fetishes can also involve parts of the body, the most common being foot fetishes (see specific paragraph).

Please note, however, that Maitresse Angelik doesn’t practice all fetishes, and you’ll need to let her know what you’re interested in so that she can accept or reject your fetishes.
